In Sydney’s own Inner West, Newtown is a region that definitely has its own personality. Only minutes away from the CBD and pretty trendy unto itself, it’s a great place to do a little photo wandering.
I always enjoy heading to Newtown and taking pictures. And as we are now two weeks post the Sydney lockdown of 2021, it was a great time to head in.

The older style terrace homes in the backstreets mixed with the diversity in the main street, it makes for a great place to visit and photograph.
Whether you are there for the many great and historical pubs or the many cool cafes. Or simply just for the uniqueness of Newtown itself, it’s a perfect place for a visit or a photo tour. More on Newtown here https://chasinglight.photo.blog/2021/08/07/sydneys-best-day-trips/

There is so much to see and shoot here it’s really hard to put into a single trip. I really need to visit here more often to complete a photo essay of the place. But I also feel regardless of how many times you visit, you could never really capture the place to its full justice.

Newtown is just full of life and colour and here is just a snippet of the town so close the the Sydney CBD. I’ll definitely be back to photograph more when I can.

And if you’re looking for places to photograph in Sydney, Newtown is a awesome place to add to the list.
Til next time!
Chris
