Jacaranda trees in full bloom over the historic Como Hotel

Como in Sydney’s southern suburbs is the kind of suburb that if you haven’t been to you’re truly missing out.

A beautiful town on the Georges River and only a 45 minute drive from the Sydney CBD, with plenty of great parks, cafes and a pretty awesome looking pub the Como Hotel.

Built in the 1880’s and one of the oldest buildings in the Sutherland Shire, it’s just a great looking venue and with the purple of the Jacaranda, it makes for some pretty cool pictures.

Como is also home to a lovely park land area with its own tidal baths if you’re looking for a swim. Some pictures here of the pools https://chasinglight.photo.blog/2021/10/07/pools-of-the-sea-como-tidal-baths-in-spring/

Or if you’d rather stretch the legs and go for a walk you could try the historic Como Railway bridge and walk across to the town of Oatley. See here the the bridge https://chasinglight.photo.blog/2021/11/08/the-bridges-of-sydney-series-como-bridge-como-nsw/

But if you’re just looking for a place to see the awesome purple of the Jacaranda trees in Sydney, Como is a great suburb to check out for a visit.

Til next time!

Chris
