Coledale Rock Pool

This stunning rock pool on the south coast of NSW, is in the Wollongong region and is just north of the more well know Austinmer beach.

It’s also one of my favourite pools so far. It almost looks to good to be real, almost like something out of the X Files. A perfect rectangle shape adjoined by a smaller perfect square pool for the toddlers.

It’s a great looking site especially against the dark rock that it was built into. The colour contrast of the greenish colour of the pools water is pretty unique and just makes for a great photograph. Even better from the air as seen here.

It’s similar to the Bulli Rock pool as seen in one of my earlier posts, as it has just a beautiful backdrop against the escarpment of Wollongong. And not forgetting those crazy high mountains. If you’ve ever tried to climb them you’ll appreciate how high they are.

This is a shoot I really enjoyed, and the trip to the pretty secluded beach that is Coledale was of my favourites. I’ll definitely be back again for some more picture taking of this awesome beach and it’s perfect rectangular rock pool.

Til next time!

Chris
