Pools of the Sea: Wombarra Rock Pool, NSW

Name: Wombarra Rock Pool

Where: Wombarra Beach Woolongong, on the NSW South Coast

Pools of the Sea Number: 14/100

Continuing on in my Pools of the Sea series is the cooly shaped Wombarra Rock Pool in the beautiful NSW South Coast.

Nestled in between Scarborough and Coledale on the Wollongong coastline, it would be easy to miss and skip past as you are heading to a more well known location.

But you’d be missing out if you did. Like many of the rock pools in the Wollongong region, Wombarra pool is cut into the dark coloured rock of the coastline. And with a particular shape it’s a great looking pool to photograph or to dive in for a few laps.

At around 60km from the Sydney CBD, it’s still within a short drive if you’re in the Sydney area. But still far enough out of the hectic Sydney town if you’re looking for and escape.

I’d definitely recommend a trip out to the NSW South Coast at the best of times, and adding Wombarra to the list of things to do is a must.

Til next time!

Chris
