Leichhardt Fire Station

Continuing on from my last post about the historic Balmain Fire Station. Comes another beauty from Sydney’s Inner West.

The equally impressive Leichhardt Fire Station located at 1 Marion St
Leichhardt, is built in the similar style as Balmain but still unique in its own right.

Built in 1905-06 it replaced a local volunteer Brigade to become a full time station. and the building still looks great today some 100 + years later.

It looks great in pictures and I’d like to head back at a different time of day to see what it looks like as these pictures were around midday in autumn light.

I look forward to shooting more of these heritage Fire Stations soon so I’ll keep you posted.

Til next time!

Chris
