Figure 8 Pools in the Royal National Park

Deep in the heart of the Royal National Park in Sydney lies one of my favorite hikes and subjects to photograph.
The Figure 8 Pools can only be seen and accessed during low tide, so if you’re thinking of heading out it’s best to follow the tide via the National Parks website.
There’s a few different ways to access the Pools but this time I headed to Otford and accessed the National Park from there.
Following along the path it’s around an hours hike to the Pools via the Beach at Burning Palms.

There’s plenty to look at and photograph along the way as well as the final destination.
It’s well worth the trip but it is definitely one for the more mobile of hikers as the rocks between Burning Palms beach and the Figure 8 pools can be a little tricky to navigate.
But if you haven’t been I’d recommend it to the list.

Til next time

Chris
